love in the afternoon...

* My fall_fantasia fic was posted! I got the most delicious Severus/Harry/Draco fic. Double Duty. Summary: Severus discovers that the world can change in seven short years. Fantastic! Severus has spent the last several years in statis, sleeping, while Harry and Draco, now healers, find an antidote to Nagini's bite. Lord, I love these three together. When written well, they are the perfect triad. And we definitely have that here: solid characterization, a good story, and smoking hot sex. *loves* Thank you, mystery author. I'm almost positive I know who you are, btw. ;)

* Fest musings. fall_fantasia was the first fest I've participated in where there was an upper cap on the word limit -- in this case, 7K. The reader in me said, "yay!". The writer bit her fingernails. Still, it's been, imho, one of the most satisfying fests I've participated in. For one, I've been able to keep up with the posting schedule -- no falling behind or feeling guilty because I constantly skip the longer fics. For another, I felt as if so much of the stress of writing it was lessoned -- I knew penning a novel wasn't an option. I had to keep it short and sweet. It was FUN! And that's why I'm here. win/win

* melusinahp is taking a poll on the posting of fest fics. Do you prefer offsite hosting or multiple LJ posts for longer fics? Go do the ticky! I'm curious to see where the chips fall. Right now, things are pretty even.
